Hi, my name's Gemma and I'm a North East based Virtual Assistant
I thrive on creating order in a world of chaos!
So how did I become a Virtual Assistant? After leaving school I enrolled at college to do an NVQ in Administration. I had read a book where the main character was a secretary and working in an office seemed so glamorous… wearing a suit, sending faxes, typing letters. Ha, how naive I was! The course, in fact, was massively boring. They were teaching us how to answer a telephone for goodness sake! I must have enjoyed it though as I went on to do Business Administration Level 3 a few years later.
My diverse background means that I have skills gained in a wide variety of industries but I LOVE working with creative entrepreneurs.
I live in a rural village with my husband and very busy toddler. After having my toddler I decided to give up work so had almost 2 years of toddler company. Let’s face it, there comes a point when you need more! I knew I didn’t want to go back into an office, the whole 9-5 thing, dropping the kid off at nursery just wasn’t gonna work for me. So, I racked my brains, did some research and came up with the idea of a Virtual Assistant. It made sense…I’m highly organised, I like admin and I could work from home. Perfect!
